Singer Lyn and Lee Soo have officially ended their 11-year marriage.
On August 23, their agency 325E&C stated: “The two artists have agreed to divorce amicably after sufficient discussions. There was no fault or wrongdoing by either side, and the decision was made with mutual respect.”
The couple, who had been longtime friends, got married in 2014. Lyn, born in 1981, is best known as the “Queen of OSTs,” with hits such as “Back in Time” and “My Destiny.” Lee Soo, also born in 1981, is the powerful vocalist of M.C the MAX, one of Korea’s most popular bands of the early 2000s.
However, Lee Soo’s career was overshadowed by a major scandal in 2009 when he was charged with soliciting prostitution from a minor. He admitted the act but claimed he was unaware of the age. Due to being a first-time offender and agreeing to attend an education program, he received a suspended indictment. Since then, his TV activities stopped, though he continued music.
Lyn herself also became involved in controversy. In 2019, after posting a bracelet photo gifted by her husband, she clashed with a netizen by saying, “The prostitution part is true, but many false claims were also spread.” This response fueled further debate. In a 2024 YouTube interview, Lyn admitted, “I created more problems. My husband felt uncomfortable, and I felt guilty. In hindsight, it didn’t help either of us.” She added that time has healed her heart and she has learned when to stay silent.
While their legal relationship has ended, their agency confirmed they will remain supportive musical colleagues. Lyn continues her KOSTCON tour, performing in Manila and soon heading to Dubai, Bangkok, Malaysia, and Korea. Lee Soo, meanwhile, now identifies himself as a scuba diving instructor, sharing underwater videos on social media.
Their marriage may have ended, but both are starting new chapters—Lyn in music, and Lee Soo in a life away from the spotlight.
